Master Game Design Through Hands-On Creation

Our comprehensive program takes you from concept sketches to fully realized 3D game environments. You'll work with industry-standard tools while building a portfolio that showcases real technical skills.

What You'll Actually Learn

Each module builds on previous knowledge, but we spend real time making sure concepts stick. Some students need extra practice with certain topics, and that's completely normal.

Modules 1-3

Foundation & 3D Basics

We start with game design principles and move into 3D modeling fundamentals. You'll create simple objects first, then gradually work up to more complex structures. The learning curve can be steep initially, but most students find their rhythm by week 6.

Modules 4-6

Texturing & Materials

This is where your models really come to life. You'll learn to create realistic surfaces, from weathered metal to organic materials. We cover both hand-painted and PBR workflow approaches since different projects call for different techniques.

Modules 7-9

Environment Design

Now we combine everything into cohesive game levels. You'll design spaces that feel authentic and guide player movement naturally. This includes both indoor environments and outdoor landscapes with proper lighting considerations.

Game Engine Integration

Your environments need to work in actual game engines. We focus on Unity implementation, including performance optimization and interactive elements. You'll also learn basic scripting for environmental interactions.

Learning Alongside Industry Professionals

Our mentors aren't just teachers – they're active game developers who understand current industry demands. They provide realistic feedback about your work and help you develop professional workflows that matter in actual production environments.

Each student gets paired with a mentor based on their specific interests, whether that's architectural visualization, fantasy environments, or sci-fi settings. Mentorship sessions happen weekly and focus on reviewing your current projects while planning next steps.

Petra Andrei, Senior Environment Artist

Petra Andrei

Senior Environment Artist

Specializes in architectural environments and has worked on multiple AAA titles. She's particularly good at helping students understand how real-world architecture translates into game spaces.

Raluca Popescu, Technical Artist

Raluca Popescu

Technical Artist

Bridges the gap between art and programming. If you're interested in shader work or optimization challenges, Raluca can guide you through the technical aspects of game art production.

Diana Rusu, Freelance Designer

Diana Rusu

Freelance Designer

Runs her own game art studio and understands both the creative and business sides of the industry. She helps students think about portfolio presentation and client communication.

Program Schedule & Next Enrollment

We structure the program across 18 months to give you time to absorb concepts and build quality work. Rushing through complex 3D techniques rarely leads to good results.

Fall 2025 Enrollment Period

Applications: July 15 - August 30, 2025

We review portfolios and conduct brief interviews to understand your background and goals. No prior 3D experience required, but we do look for problem-solving ability and visual awareness.

Program Launch

September 15, 2025 - March 2027

Classes meet three evenings per week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday) with additional lab time available weekends. We find this schedule works well for people transitioning from other careers or current students.

Mid-Program Portfolio Review

June 2026

Halfway through, we evaluate your progress and help refine your focus areas. Some students discover they prefer character work over environments, and that's fine – we adjust accordingly.
